Corrections Policy: News Battlefield

At News Battlefield, our primary commitment is to provide accurate and reliable news. In the fast-paced landscape of digital journalism, errors occasionally occur. When they do, our policy is to correct them as quickly and transparently as possible. We do not “quietly” edit significant errors; we acknowledge them so our readers can remain fully informed.

1. Our Standard for Accuracy

We strive for 100% factual accuracy in every report. If a reader or a subject of a story believes there is a factual error, we take that claim seriously. Our editorial team will investigate the report, verify the facts against primary sources, and issue a correction if the claim is substantiated.

2. The Correction Protocol

When an error is identified, we follow a standardized transparency protocol:

  • The Update: The article is immediately updated with the correct information.
  • The Transparency Note: A clear note is added to the article (usually at the top or bottom) explaining what was changed and why.
  • The Timestamp: Every correction includes the date and time the adjustment was made.

3. Types of Updates

To provide clarity, we categorize our updates into three tiers:

  • CORRECTION: Used for factual inaccuracies (e.g., an incorrect name, date, statistic, or location).
  • CLARIFICATION: Used when the original language was technically accurate but could be misinterpreted or lacked necessary context.
  • UPDATE: Used for breaking news stories where new information has become available that significantly changes the narrative.

4. Social Media and Distribution

If an error is shared on our official social media channels (X, LinkedIn, etc.), we will post a corrected update on that same platform. If the platform allows for “Edit” features, we will use them while noting the change; otherwise, we will issue a new post clearly referencing the previous error.

5. Retractions

In the extremely rare event that an article is found to be fundamentally flawed or based on fraudulent information, News Battlefield will issue a full retraction. The original content will be removed, and a detailed explanation of the retraction will be published in its place to maintain our record of integrity.

6. How to Report an Error

We view our readers as our final line of defense in the “Battlefield of Information.” If you spot a mistake, please reach out to us:

  • Subject Line: Correction Request: [Title of the Article]
  • Required Info: Please provide a link to the article, the specific text you believe is incorrect, and any evidence or sources that support the correction.
